This is especially important to the students because the federal government has moved to increase the use of fossil fuels and is ending many environmental regulations and policies. 今年, the Club hopes to shape policies beyond our 校园 by working with Lower Merion Township to pass a law to eliminate single-use plastic bags at grocery stores, 药店, 和其他零售商. The club also would like to help the athletic department transition to reusable water bottles instead of using hundreds of disposable cups each day. They also look forward to helping the newly renovated cafeteria get certified by the Green Restaurant Association. Twenty-five different species of native flowering plants that attract pollinators and give a succession of bloom from May through 10月ober are growing on this very steep slope that was previously planted with turf grass. 在最近的三分钟观察中, at least eight species of bees and wasps (including honeybees) and three butterfly species were spotted nectaring on the flowers on the slope.
